Reading Can Better

I must be honest. I'm not a big reader and I'm not the kind of person to read for leisure time.  I used to when i was in grade school and I would before I went to bed.  It would help me fall asleep, but some books can keep me up and make me want to keep reading.  It seems like I don't have much time to read anymore. I either have homework or school and when I'm not in school I have work.  By the time i get done with my daily things, I want to be able to go do stuff and hang with friends.  When I go to bed now, it's put in a movie and fall asleep.  I think I should take more time on reading books because this is probably why I have to take this class and that reading is my weak point because I don't do much of it.  Practice makes perfect I guess and I would have been able to read faster then I do right now.  I think reading does give you more of an imagination and I would think would help you in school more and educate you more.  Even my vocabulary would progress because I do find a lot of words in a book that I don't know and I think if I start identifying them and figuring out what they mean my vocab would be more educated, rather than just skipping over the words and keep on reading.  When I am reading I want a book that will keep me reading and stay more interested in the book.  If a teacher asked me to read a chapter out of a boring text book, I can read the chapter and by the time I'm done, I ask myself, "What did I just read."  If the reading does not catch my interest, I can read and think about other things to myself while reading.  It doesn't work very well.  If I am reading a book that I like and interest me, I can keep reading and won't want to put the book down.

  1. I'm glad this class will give you a reason to read again. You can sink down into your bed at the end the day and recapture the enjoyment you used to feel and call it "homework"! :)
